SECURITY & DATA RESIDENCY ARCHITECTURE

How your call recordings are stored

AWS Sydney Region (ap-southeast-2) · AES-256 Encryption at Rest · TLS 1.3 in Transit · ABN 64 672 190 441

100% Onshore in Sydney

SIP voice streams terminate at our Sydney Point of Presence and are stored exclusively in AWS ap-southeast-2.

Per-Tenant KMS Keys

Audio files (.wav / .opus) and JSON transcripts are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and signed time-limited URLs.

Auto-Purge & Zero-Recording Mode

Choose 30-day, 90-day, or 0-day retention (transcript-only mode) from your Agent & Voice console at any time.

1. Where your audio and transcripts live

When a customer rings your business number, the call is answered on Australian carrier infrastructure (Symbio / Telstra wholesale SIP trunks) and processed in Sydney, NSW. Neither the audio recording nor the written transcript ever leaves Australian jurisdiction.

2. Australian State & Territory recording disclosure

Under the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 (Cth) and state surveillance devices legislation, callers must be notified before a conversation is recorded. Ringmate automatically includes a natural Australian disclosure in your receptionist's opening greeting (e.g. “G'day, Bayside Plumbing, Ruby speaking—just letting you know this call is recorded”).

3. Configurable retention & instant deletion

By default, call recordings are retained for 90 days so you can double-check job addresses, street numbers, or quoted prices, and teach your receptionist from past calls. You can toggle off audio recording completely in Agent & Voice settings, or purge any single call with one click.
